ISLAMABAD: Qazi Faez Isa , Chief Justice of Pakistan;while hearing the reserved seat of SIC on Monday asked why Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) committed suicide by joining the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), reported ARY News.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa will hear SIC’s plea against the Peshawar High Court order on reserved seats. During the hearing, CJP Isa pointed out that they should remember the time when we gave them the election date, saying “you (PTI) tried to delay the election and filed a petition in the Lahore High Court on this matter. Note.”

The president also mentioned that the three-judge bench of the Supreme Court did not make the choice. He pointed out that PTI founder and Prime Minister Imran Khan did not hold elections within the party.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan questioned the lawyer representing the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) about their decision to join another party if the PTI is still considered a political party. The court also questioned the SIC’s claim to reserved seats, as they did not contest the election.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had previously informed the Supreme Court that the SIC is not entitled to reserved seats. The SIC’s lawyer argued that the ECP misinterpreted the constitution and ignored its natural limits.
