We are in a state of despair as terrorism lurking upon our heads. The simmering situation around the country smashed the fact base data. Pakistan became a hotbed for the insurgent activities and every next day we get news of terrorism. Experts attribute terrorism is an international phenomenon because of its international presence and conceived it a global threat being collectively work to eliminate its roots. Here is the detail of terrorist attacks being happened in the most sophisticated security system; Boston Marathon Bombing- April15, 2013 in which two bombs detonated near the finish line claiming 3 lives and 260 people injured, similarly in San Bernardino Shooting December 2, 2015 California mass shooting killing over 14 people and 22 injured. Adding to that, in Florida Orlando night club shooting in 2016 claimed 49 people along with 53 injured. Moreover, in New York City a just rammed over people that killed 8 people and 11 injured.

Similarly in Russia which also used to say a well fenced security has a victim of terrorism and dozens of terrorist attacks like Beslon School Siege, Moscow Theatre siege, Domodedovo Airport Bombing, St. Petersburg Metro Bombing and one of the recent attacks on Moscow Concert Hall in March 22, 2024 claiming the lives of 140 lives and hundreds were wounded.

Unlike the US and Russia Pakistan has even a hard slip but it should not be attributed to some our security lapses as a global phenomenon evolving around the world.

Pakistan has received hundreds of attacks in the recent decade which portrayed a dismal picture of our security agencies but to deep down in this security failure one can reach to the conclusion that the US and Russia are not bordered with some terrible demographies but on the other side Pakistan is sharing a large border with some of the world crucial and insurgent nations that could not only pose threat to Pakistan but to the entire world.

Pakistan shared a large boundary with India which is totally insurrected to create volatility in Pakistan and from the day one India remain a hostile nation and does not leave any stone unturned to sabotage the recognition of Pakistan. We fought a three full fledge war with India but still the reckoning is under way as it involves in a notorious activities in Balochistan.

Although we have brotherly relation with Afghanistan and we backed the Afghan cause at every international platform but they never remain to their promises as it soil permanently using against Pakistan. Moreover, Pakistan has recorded its message in soft and harsh tone by accusing Afghanistan for aboding so called TTP which posing existential threat to Pakistan and carried every day attack on the security forces.

Pakistan is not grappling with only those foreign enemies but also has internal groups which are straining already strain situation. In the world where terrorism is considered a global threat has never blame state for failing to protect the public but in Pakistan it seems totally different as all the messes of terrorism burdened on the state and no one wants to investigate but turn to state.

I had a conversation with a group of my students of political science that how can we eliminate terrorism they simply replied that state does not want to wiped up terrorism.

Here are some fact base assumptions that can make a sense that state is not tend to be blamed for terrorism but the entire world is victim of terrorism; in previous five years state lost several soldiers from colonel to sepahi and a common question that can be asked by an intellect that why state would kill its own forces if they are highly invested by the state.

Secondly, if the highly sophisticated securities of the world are failed to control terrorism how can we expect that Pakistan_ porous borders with hostile countries_ can get rid of terrorism.

Pakistan is relentlessly affecting by terrorism as well as the public distrust which hinders the security forces launch a full scale operation against terrorism because for every fighting public support is mandatory which is lacked by Pakistan’s security agency.

It is imperative to get the public support by addressing their grievances and the public must show their collective front to eliminate terrorism and consider it a global threat.
