Afzal Talib Elected Senior Vice President of Lahore Press Club for 2024-25

In a resounding victory, Afzal Talib, a senior journalist and a prominent figure in Pakistan’s media industry, has been elected as the Senior Vice President of the Lahore Press Club (LPC) for the 2024-25 term. Representing the Journalist-Progressive Alliance, Talib secured an impressive 1,123 votes, defeating his opponent, Hafiz Faiz Ahmed, who garnered 780 votes. The Journalist-Progressive Alliance also claimed the majority of positions in the LPC elections, marking a significant triumph. Arshad Ansari also got re-elected as President of Lahore Press Club following by Zahid Abid General Secretary, Imran Sheikh as Joint Secretary, Salik Nawaz and from Pioneer Alliance Saima Warraich also won the position of Vice President.

With over 30 years of experience, Afzal Talib is one of Pakistan’s most seasoned journalists. He is currently associated with the Express Media Group, contributing to Express News, Daily Express, and The Express Tribune. Additionally, Talib serves as a Member of the Editorial Board of the esteemed The Advocate Post, where his expertise in international affairs and investigative reporting has been instrumental.

Talib’s association with the Lahore Press Club is longstanding. In the past, he has held various key positions, including General Secretary, Senior Vice President, and Finance Secretary. His leadership and dedication to the press community have earned him widespread respect and recognition.
