The Advocate Post: Pakistan’s Javelin ace Arshad Nadeem has advanced into finals of the Paris Olympics Javelin Throw event. Nadeem achieved a massive throw of 86.59 meters, exceeding the minimum required to qualify for competing for a medal. His delivery of this throw not only secured him a place in the finals, but also displayed his noteworthy talent. All athletes that had a minimum of 84 meters have guaranteed their spot in the final round, where they will fight to earn a medal.
Out of the seven athletes sent by Pakistan, Nadeem has become the only one to compete for a medal, holding the country’s last hope of earning one in this year’s Olympics. The Javelin star had previously earned an impressive fifth place in the Tokyo 2020 Games.
Long time sports fans might remember that Nadeem had won silver at the World Championship last year, and won gold at the Commonwealth Games 2022, becoming the first Pakistani athlete since 1962 to win a gold medal, with a winning throw of 90.18 meters.
