Abdul Rafay Afzal Meets Somaliland’s Vice Minister of Trade & Tourism, Discusses Tourism Revival and Economic Collaboration

Hargeisa -Abdul Rafay Afzal, Editor-in-Chief of The Advocate Post, International Journalist, and President of the Civil Society Network Pakistan (Youth), held a high-level meeting with Hon. Jawhar Siciid Warsame, Vice Minister of Trade and Tourism of Somaliland, during his official visit to the country.

The discussions centered on revitalizing Somaliland’s tourism sector and enhancing trade cooperation between Somaliland and international partners. Vice Minister Warsame highlighted the government’s plans to relaunch ‘Visit Somaliland’, a strategic campaign aimed at promoting the nation’s unique cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, and investment potential to global audiences.

Abdul Rafay Afzal emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism development, private sector investment, and people-to-people exchanges to strengthen economic ties. Both sides explored potential collaborations in trade facilitation, youth engagement, and media partnerships to further elevate Somaliland’s global profile.

“Somaliland is a land of untapped opportunities, and initiatives like ‘Visit Somaliland’ can unlock immense potential for tourism and cross-border trade,”

said Afzal.
