ISLAMABAD – May 10, 2025 In a significant escalation of regional tensions, India launched missile attacks targeting three key Pakistani air bases late Friday night, which were successfully thwarted by Pakistan’s air defense systems, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of ISPR, confirmed that the Nur Khan Airbase, Mureed Base, and Shorkot Airbase were all targeted with air-to-ground missiles. However, he assured the nation that all military assets remain safe and fully operational.
“Our air defense systems responded swiftly and effectively, intercepting the hostile missiles. All assets of the Pakistan Air Force are secure,”
Lt. Gen. Chaudhry said in a press briefing.
The military spokesperson further revealed that India also fired missiles into Afghan territory, calling the action a blatant provocation aimed at destabilizing the region. “India is pushing the entire region towards war with its reckless actions,” he said.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve, Lt. Gen. Chaudhry declared,
“The Pakistani nation stands united and resolute. We will not be intimidated by India’s aggression. India should now wait for our response.”
In a related development, security forces successfully shot down an Indian drone in the Narang Mandi area. According to security sources, the drone was intercepted and destroyed in a timely manner, preventing it from conducting surveillance or gathering intelligence.
The situation remains tense, with both sides on high alert. The international community has been urged to take notice of India’s provocative actions to prevent further escalation in the region.
