Ratan Tata of Indian Tata group passed at the age of 86

Ratan Tata, the esteemed chairman emeritus of the Tata Group, has passed away at the age of 86. He died on October 9, 2023, at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, where he was being treated in the intensive care unit following a sudden deterioration in his health. Reports indicate that Tata experienced a significant drop in blood pressure, leading to his critical condition.

Born in 1937 to Naval and Soonoo Tata, Ratan Tata was raised by his grandmother, Navajbai R Tata, in the historic Tata Palace in downtown Bombay. His upbringing instilled in him the values of integrity and responsibility, which he carried throughout his illustrious career. Tata joined the Tata Group in 1962, eventually becoming its chairman in 1991. Under his leadership, the conglomerate expanded its reach, acquiring several international companies and significantly enhancing its global presence.
