The Advocate Post: The US has significantly increased its military presence in the Middle East, deploying navy cruisers, destroyers, and missile interceptors to protect Israel amid rising regional tensions. This move comes after Israeli assassinations in Iran and Lebanon escalated the situation, prompting US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin to take decisive action.
According to the Pentagon, additional fighter jet squadrons and land-based missile defenses are also being sent to the region. Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh stated, “(Austin) informed the minister of additional measures to include ongoing and future defensive force posture changes that the department will take to support the defense of Israel.”
This strategic deployment aims to bolster Israel’s defense capabilities and ensure stability in the Middle East during this critical period.
