U.S. SENDING 2,000 MARINES TO ISRAELI COAST – REPORTS

Pentagon has reportedly sent 2,000 personnel to waters off Israel’s coast as part of a ‘show of force’ in the region. This is according to CNN, who cite ‘unnamed’ US officials.

According to the sources, the ‘rapid response force’ is headed towards Israel on board the USS Bataan, an amphibious assault ship previously stationed in the Gulf of Oman. The vessel’s ultimate destination was not specified.

The move is intended to ‘send a message of deterrence to Iran and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah,’ say the sources.

This reported deployment comes alongside a separate order from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, for 2,000 troops to prepare for a potential ‘medical and logistical support’ mission in Israel.
