Pakistan Responds to Indian Missile Strikes by Shooting Down Two Indian Jets

In a significant escalation of hostilities, Pakistan’s military has confirmed that its Air Force shot down two Indian fighter jets (Rafale) that had entered Pakistani airspace in the aftermath of India’s missile strikes on May 6, 2025.

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) had been on high alert following India’s missile strikes, which targeted locations including Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Bahawalpur, causing civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had previously vowed a strong response to these provocations. The downing of the Indian jets appears to be a direct retaliation for the earlier missile strikes .

The situation remains tense, with both nations on high alert along the Line of Control. The international community is closely monitoring developments, urging both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and engage in dialogue to prevent further escalation.
