The Advocate Post: US Vice-President and the current representative for the democrats in the US elections, Kamala Harris has taken offense against Trump in her first rally. To a crowd of about 3,000 people, she referred to Donald Trump as a convicted felon, likening him to that of one of the criminals Harris had prosecuted in her past profession.
Meanwhile, Trump responded on social media saying: “Lyin’ Kamala Harris destroys everything she touches!”
The conflict came a day after Harris had secured the support of many Democratic delegates, on the path to solidify her as the party’s nominee. Previously on Sunday, President Joe Biden announced he was pulling out of the race and endorsed is vice-president, after receiving major backlash from both top Democrats and donors from his disastrous debate with Trump in late June.
Harris’ campaign raised a surprising $100m (£77m), in mere 36 hours after Biden’s exit. Adding even further to her advancement, the latest national poll from Reuters and Ipsosshows her in the lead over Trump by two points, 44% to 42%.
