Norway has announced an increase in its support for the UN agency assisting Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), adding 100 million kroner (approximately $9 million) to its current funding of 275 million kroner (about $25 million).
Anne Beathe Tvinnereim, Norway’s international development minister, highlighted concerns over the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) challenges in the occupied West Bank, warning of a possible collapse due to financial difficulties, ongoing violence, and restrictions preventing nearly a million Palestinians from working in Israel.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide emphasized these concerns, noting the critical role Norway plays as chair of the international donor group supporting Palestinians and as a supporter of the PA.
