“Seven Pakistan Armed forced fighters including a captain, were tragically killed when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by terrorists in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
The military’s media branch, ISPR, reported that the security forces’ vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb during a patrol in the area.
The soldiers who lost their lives were named as Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas, Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar, Lance Naik Hussain Ali, Sepoy Asad Ullah, Sepoy Manzoor Hussain, and Sepoy Rashid Mehmood.
The ISPR mentioned that the region is being cleared to remove any terrorists, and those responsible for this terrible act will face justice.
The military’s media wing emphasized that the security forces of Pakistan are resolute in eradicating terrorism, and the sacrifices made by our courageous soldiers only strengthen our determination.
Pakistan has experienced a rise in terrorist incidents, particularly in KP and Balochistan, following the termination of the ceasefire between the government and the banned militant group Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in November 2022.
In a recent report, the ISPR announced that security forces took down 23 terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province through three separate operations in the last days of May 2024.
