Role of Women in Society

By Kinza Zameer (Pakistan)

In the present era, the world is excelling in all aspects of life. Unfortunately, the issue still exists in our culture and has its roots deep in ingrained traditions and ideas. March 8, is recognized as Women’s Day on a national and international level throughout the world. But still, everyone’s mind is constructed with a solid conception of whether our daughters should study or not. Do we need to educate our women?

And their minds are also indulging in such doubts. Egoistic men find it disrespectful to send their daughters and sisters to institutions to get educated. On the other hand, every individual in society wants a peaceful, literate, and respectful society. Here, the question arises. Is it possible? Is it easy to create a peaceful, and sophisticated society without allowing women to receive an education?

In rural areas, girls are not allowed to stay away from home and work independently because of discrimination and violence.

Additionally, they are scared for the honor and respect of their women and girls. Their families forbid them from leaving the home in any situation. Not even a woman is permitted to make decisions regarding her own house. Female is not a word but a strong term that reflects love, care, affection, responsibilities, strength, empowerment, and eternity.

A woman reflects society. A woman is a mother, sister, daughter, wife, teacher, and doctor. A woman teaches her child as a teacher, cares for her child as a doctor, and brings up her child as no other one can do. A woman’s strength makes the society strong, which helps to make the country strong. Women’s contribution in every part of life is no doubt crucial and their importance in every walk of life cannot be overstated.

Today, most people think that empowered women are those who are desire to remain at home and serve the family by playing a part as a wife, daughter-in-law, and mother. Women are treated to violence and harassment, and it remains a significant problem today. But with the modern age, there are ‘Women’s Organizations’ that have been at the forefront of gender equality and have policies that protect women’s rights.

Women and girls should have the same rights and respect as boys and men. They should have the same right as men to live in the society in an honorable way.

However, a woman plays a vital role in leadership, economics, culture, and nation-building. In addition, women have finally broken the barrier from the confines of home and made their own way to success. Women of the present era are as naive and shy as they were in the recent past. Women play their role in promoting society’s welfare and have earned enormous success.

To summarize, women’s role in the development of a country cannot be overstated. For a nation to prosper, women’s power and the advancement of gender equality are essential. Women’s rights are human rights. And a successful society never faced the violation of human rights. So, working together and peacefully, we can create a more equitable world for everyone. A society where everyone lives his own life according to his own desires.
