Trump Offers to Mediate Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions

News Desk:  U.S. President Donald Trump has extended an offer to mediate between India and Pakistan, expressing concern over escalating tensions between the two nations. Speaking from the White House, Trump urged both countries to cease hostilities immediately and offered his assistance in facilitating peace talks.

The recent escalation follows Indian airstrikes on targets in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, allegedly in retaliation for a terrorist attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir that resulted in 26 fatalities. Pakistan condemned the strikes as violations of its sovereignty and reported significant casualties, including women and children. In response, Pakistan’s military claims to have shot down five Indian jets. Both sides have exchanged artillery fire along the Line of Control, heightening fears of a broader military conflict.

Trump’s offer to mediate reflects ongoing international concern about the rising conflict in the region. While India has historically maintained that the Kashmir issue is a bilateral matter and has rejected third-party mediation, Pakistan has expressed openness to international assistance in resolving the dispute. The situation remains fluid, with global leaders calling for immediate de-escalation and renewed dialogue between the two countries.
