Palestinian Prisoner’s Society Reports Mass Detention and Abuse of at least 640 Children in West Bank

News Desk

Since October 7, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society reports that Israeli forces have detained at least 640 children in the occupied West Bank. Although some have since been released, at least 240 remain in Israeli custody, enduring harsh conditions.

The organization has issued a stark statement detailing the severe treatment these young detainees face. “Many have been subjected to torture,” the group asserts, painting a grim picture of the realities within Israeli detention facilities. The children, they say, are exposed to a range of retaliatory measures, including physical abuse, psychological torture, and medical neglect.

The Society further highlighted the plight of children held in Megiddo prison, emphasizing that some of these young detainees were taken from the Gaza Strip, which remains under siege and bombardment.

These revelations underscore the escalating humanitarian concerns in the region, particularly the treatment of minors caught in the conflict. The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society calls for urgent international attention to the conditions faced by these children, urging intervention to protect their rights and well-being.
